Be Enthusiastic

15 - Enthusiasm

Pour your heart and soul into whatever it is you are doing. Smile and inspire others. Be a positive influence. Treat every job you partake in as important. Be an eager giver and show excitement and interest in what you do. Your attitude is infectious, whether positive or negative. Spread positive energy to others that surround you. Find joy in everything you do. Make this a habit. It is a choice you make regarding how you respond to each situation. Choose to express interest, not allowing yourself to be discouraged by setbacks or failures. Treat them as learning experiences and grow because of them. Take measures never to allow your enthusiasm to lose its vitality.

There are many benefits to approaching events in your life with enthusiasm. It’s a great time to get excited!

Benefits of an Enthusiastic Approach:

  • It’s infectious.  When you radiate positive energy, it is contagious! The high-frequency vibrations flow through your body and may be felt by those around you. People around you will "catch your vibes," positively impacting them. They will be favorably affected by your passionate display and will likely continue to pass it along to other people as well. What a wonderful disposition to be able to spread this influence to a multitude of people. Imagine the astonishing impact this could have in a business setting or even a family gathering! And just imagine the same impact if you chose an apathetic or negative outlook. That is also just as infectious in a destructive way. Be aware of your demeanor and choose to get excited! Cultivate your enthusiasm.
  • It’s healthy.  In addition to desirable mental benefits, there are physical changes in the brain as well, resulting from enthusiasm. Blood pressure may be lowered, perhaps a decrease in anxiety, or it may even reduce or eliminate symptoms of depression. Tension is released when you smile, as it takes more muscles to frown than to smile. Not to mention there are fewer wrinkles! Remember the enthusiasm of your childhood. Find a way to bring some of that back.
  • Increased creativity.  Your mind may become less cluttered as your feelings are lighter due to an enthusiastic approach. Less clutter makes way for more creativity, thoughts, and ideas. When stress is reduced, or any other heavy and negative feelings, your mind becomes more open and willing to process new thoughts or ways of doing things.Your imagination is sparked by enthusiasm and creativity, and new discoveries will flourish. You can grow old by deserting your ideas. Don’t let stagnation wrinkle your soul. Choose to be enthusiastic.
  • It’s energizing.  When you approach situations with fervor, even if you are currently down, you can "fake-it-til-you-make-it," so to speak. When you choose the positive energy of enthusiasm, you transform heavy, dense, negative energy into light, positive, high-frequency vibrations. These light vibes are powerful and energizing, creating a feeling of more stamina and vitality. You feel enlightened and zealous, ready to embrace unfinished projects or issues that have been set aside. When you "give out" enthusiasm, you will always have it multiplied back to you. Enthusiasm is inspirational.
  • More productivity.  With more energy comes the desire to do something. It is hard to be energized and remain idle! You can succeed at almost anything with the right amount of enthusiasm. A wise leader will constructively utilize this outpouring of energy to benefit the business and its associates. Allow the creative juices to flow and constructively and fruitfully capture the energy's essence.
  • It’s motivating.  In the resultant chain reaction of choosing to be enthusiastic, you will become energized, creative, and productive, leading to extreme motivation for gratifying results. Use this motivation and the other positive effects of enthusiasm to launch you toward success and achievement. Enthusiasm and motivation go hand-in-hand. Motivation can take you to many inspiring places. Embrace it in all forms. What motivates you the most? How can you motivate others?
  • You are captivating.  Your smile can light up a room. When you walk into a room, consider what characteristics draw you to others. A delightful response can turn the shyest of people into an influential focus of interest just from a smile and a bit of spirit. An enthusiastic person is enticing and intriguing to be around. The energy that flows, as a result, is captivating and even alluring. There is an element of expectation, instilling a sense of happiness and positivity. Be optimistic and excited about what you do, and be eager to share joy with others. If you have zest and fervor, you will attract zest and fervor.

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
